Woodburnings
It has been 20 years since I have tried my hand at woodburnings. The following 5 images are woodburnings I have done this past week (week of 22 February 07)

I thought I would try several different kinds of pictures. I found some photos on the internet and made woodburnt versions of them. The picture of a rainy day in Chicago was from a watercolor I ran across on the internet. I cannot remember where it was from, or the name of the artist who created the original. The lighthouse was from another photo. The picture of John Wayne as "Rooster Cogburn" was from my original drawing of the Duke that I did in 1994.

Rooster Cogburn
I have been a fan of John Wayne, for a long time. Duke Wayne died 11 Jun 79, the day I went into the United States Air Force.
The Joker
This sketch of the Joker is actually the third attempt of the perfect Joker picture. Several people have commented on the "HE HE HE"s. When I was adding the "laugh track", I all of a sudden had it in my mind that for the Joker, the "HE HE HE"s are more a part of his physical reality than anything else.
"Superman"
I did this a few years back, when The Animated Batman was on Fox Network, before there was an Animated Superman.

I was curious as to what Superman would look like drawn in the same style. This is what I came up with. I think I prefer this better than the current animated version. 'Course that could just be me!. What do you think?

The Scoop "Shadow Box"
Ok, This technically is not my artwork. It is of course an Alex Ross cover from the comic book "Astro City". This story was called "The Scoop", I simply created a "Shadow Box" out of the cover. Instead of merely building up the image by overlaying copies of the items in the forefront, I digitally "removed" the item from the picture, and using my computer "drew in" what was covered. For example, when I removed the typewriter, I added in the front of the reporter's shirt and rest of his tie, so that it would be visible behind the typewriter.
Isaiah 49:15-16
This is my favorite verse, and so I thought I would portray what I thought of the first time I read it. Jesus Christ, engraving our name in his hand with a Nail!
